Weapon Overview
If you have enough Credits in your pocket, or aren’t satisfied with your ninja’s bare fists, you’re probably interested in getting some weapons. But wait? What are these weapons, and what’s the point of having them? On that note, what’s the advantage of having them? I’ve created a quick briefing for all you out there in need of some assistance.
Purchasing
-Purchasing is a simple matter, one that is practically self explanatory. Based on the amount of Credits you have, you’ll head on over to Guja’s Shop, go to the appropriate rank, and post a thread of the weapon(s) you desire. A Mod or Administrator will confirm your purchase, deducting the total amount of Credits from your account. Once you have your weapons, it’s advised you update your Character profile with the weapons they now have.
Weapons Advantage
-So what is the benefit from having weapons? A great deal of things. First off, as you know, you are only allowed to attack three times with normal melee (Taijutsu) and can only cause 10 points of Damage per move. However, with weapons, you are NOT limited to combo attacks up to three. In fact, after you’re finished with your normal melee, you can use your weapon(s) as many times as you like. Just be sure to not use up your Energy too quickly.
Weapons also don’t consume a great deal of Energy. You can line up some powerful Damage and hardly go over the 20 point mark, if you’re crafty. Weapons even line up dangerous stat effects which can be incredibly useful if the battle isn’t in your favor. If Jutsus aren’t much help, maybe poison or exploding tags are your best bet.
Melee Bonus
-Melee bonus is a type of increase to your attack that is common with most normal weapon types. The bonus means, simply, that your regular taijutsu attacks can be enhanced by the weapon itself by adding damage to the 10 point limit. As in, if you have a dagger that has a +2 Damage, and it reads “M”, you can add that to your regular Taijutsu attacks. Plus, you won’t pay Energy on the exact number of damage you’re causing. Here’s an example:
Let’s say you have this: Black Dagger, M, +4 Damage, -2 Energy
You attack as this: Okochu makes a dangerous slash. (+10 Damage, Dagger +4 Damage, Energy -12)
You see? Instead of only doing 30 damage per normal combo, you could do 42 points of damage instead, without a huge drawback of Energy.
Rank Bonus
-The best part of Weapons is the fact you are not limited by your shinobi’s rank to get a good one. If I have a simple Genin, but I’d like to buy a Rank B weapon, you are entitled to do so, so long as you have enough Credits.
So have you learned enough? The Credits you earn are well worth it for the stuff available. Remember, you not only get Credits from missions but posting as well (1 Post=1 Credit). Under the notice that stat effects and weapon descriptions may seem confusing or lax, please don’t hesitate to contact me about them.
