Name: Jinniku
Age: 44
Rank: Nakigara Right Hand
Allegiance: The Nakigara
Appearance: Leering at most of the world from a height of 6'1', Jinniku can be described as one whom as aged gracefully, lacking any rust or hindrance by his grand age. His face has an unusual smoothness to it, while his radiant white eyes (quite outstanding seated in black retina) seem to fall back in the sockets, complimented by the narrow bridge of his nose. His thin lips are commonly twisted into a discomforting smile, while the gauntness of his visage resonates with energy most unnatural. His hair is a pristine, deep red, ruffled into unchanging spikes reaching a menial length, while an inch-radius dot of a deformed skull tattoo marks his forehead.
There are two raiments by which Jinniku and the rest of the Nakigara abide by, though they are all given one format which is unique with the person. Jinniku’s first outfit is for nighttime stealth purposes and/or intimidation. It is a deep, onyx black robe stretching to the ankles with a grey cloth belt, and buckle-stitch openings on the torso in the increments of five (meaning there are five buckles at the chest to be strapped on or off). The arms of the robe are thinner in width, made to not hang loosely off the skin, while a hood is available to rest over the head, some members using a veil for facial masking. This signature Nakigara robe also contains the image of a deformed corpse woven on the back, in the color of white, with the same skull mark from Jinniku’s forehead imprinted on the front torso, also the porcelain tint.
The signature for Jinniku’s robe is a pattern of what seems to be lines of stitch markings, which wind in several directions round his arms and waist.
Jinniku’s second attire is composed of three things: pants, boots, and wrist gloves. To focus and synchronize his abilities further, Jinniku wears a set of wrist-length gloves and long boots, both of brown, sturdy leather. These two add-ons are set with multiple holes by which Jinniku’s “skill” can be better honed. As for his body, Jinniku only retains pants so as to keep his torso and arm flesh free from clutter.
Personality: Jinniku’s sole interest is to further his progress and power within the Nakigara, risking all available missions and tasks set out by their leader. He is mostly discontent with his position, finding a lack of use for his powers, constantly thirsting for a contract that will demand the use of all his skill. With a thirst for intensity, Jinniku measures all forms of combat by pain, rather giving in to respect more so than frustration if he begins to lose. He is short tempered with teammates unable to hold ground by themselves. Jinniku’s main element of personal strength is his disregard for danger, staying quite calm, if not jokingly, in the face of death.
Biography: Jinniku was born to a well established family in the Mist Village, his true name being Katso Mejima. Juxtaposed to being a full fledged combat Shinobi, Mejima’s family was known for their revolutionary surgical techniques, the father, Zake’ Mejima, saving many lives from a terrible heart disease that had swept through many villages at that time. Inspired by the close knit workings of his mother and father, Katso wanted nothing more than to become a doctor, physician, or surgeon, just like his parents, grandparents, and so on. At the age of nine he was all ready able to list all the major organs of the body, while describing their function with well thought detail and precision. From that point, it appeared little Katso would be a success just like his loving parents.
His world changed at eleven. His older brother, Yoro Mejima, had returned from the dangerous world of the Ninja, beaten, sick, and in critical condition. Yoro had been part of a newly released dispatch squad of trained Chuunin, guarding the borders of the Mist, reporting home every three months or so. Unfortunately, Yoro was at near death. With a torn leg and heavy blood loss, he was rushed home for immediate surgery, conducted by his own parents.
The next day brought pain. Regardless of the extensive work done by Katso’s mother and father, Yoro passed away by sudden cardiac arrest and monumental blood deprivation. The agony bit down at the family as only the last breath of life could. It changed Katso for good.
The next months or so, little Katso was determined never to see something like that happen again. Infuriated, confused, and sad, he joined the shinobi academy post haste at the right age, vowing to save all from the terrible fate of death itself. Though being a runt as a fighter, Katso’s experience with the body allowed him to generate Jutsus that were able to heal extensive damage to one’s flesh and form. Proudly, Katso became a successful Genin, and through the years of hard training, a Chuunin.
(Time-skip)
It is not known precisely when and exactly where Katso went missing. Age 29, with his squad, he seemed reliable enough to defend himself in dangerous circumstances, yet, a foul turn of events led to the death of his friends and his eventual vanishing. For the Mist Village, his family, his home, the mystery was never solved, and questions remained about why he had gone missing.
In truth, it was the Nakigara who found him. The shadowy veil of the dead had been watching this shinobi for a great deal of time, monitoring his style, knowledge, and energy as though it were their obsession. Finally, when the time came, the Nakigara made their move. A band of supernatural sentient shinobi claiming to be human (resembling the visage of a corpse more so) captured Katso and brought him to their leader. It was there that the Mist ninja lost his humanity and became something far darker and fouler.
It was by the curse of the Nakigara Katso died and became Jinniku. It was by this curse he was allowed the passive knowledge to manipulate every aspect of his body, from organ, blood, and bone. Perhaps he still retained memories of who he was, but the ex-Katso was no longer concerned. Now his intelligence of the human body was put to true strength. Now, he was given extensive power, becoming the Right Hand of the Nakigara, re-defining his purpose in the wretched un-death birthed through him.
He is now an instrument of death and rot. He lives, or rather, dies to serve, at the seat of his master, and has been given a set of profane abilities that ensure his legacy as a terrible being who once strove to save people from suffering and doom.
